World-leading mobile connectivity for a world-leading biopharma company
After two decades in west London, global biopharma company GSK returned to central London in 2024 where it can trace its origins back to the Plough Court Pharmacy from 1715.
The new headquarters are the base for the global leadership team, as well as teams supporting research and development, the supply chain, commercial operations, corporate functions and ViiV Healthcare.
To ensure the 3,000 members of staff plus all visitors would have assured mobile connectivity from all the network operators, they selected Freshwave’s Omni Network. We worked closely with GSK’s team to deliver our small cell solution throughout the building and we also provide an ongoing managed service.

From signal to synergy: Enabling collaboration at GSK
GSK wanted their HQ at New Oxford Street to be a place of collaboration and innovation; the site incorporates many smart building technologies to facilitate this. Understanding how mobile connectivity contributes to collaboration, they chose Omni Network for its ability to deliver all operators in a sleek, sustainable solution. The new development won the “Best Smart Building” award at the Inavation Awards (2025) and the BCO Innovation Award (2025) for its focus on employee health, wellness, and sustainability.
Indoor small cells
An indoor small cell is a low power cellular coverage box that boosts mobile service for people in a carefully defined area inside. They’re similar in size and shape to a Wi-Fi access point.
