Working with Three UK to turn a world-leading technical specification into a business-as-usual approach.
The UK is unique in the telecoms world in having an agreed technical standard for connecting shared in-building radio solutions based on 4G small-cell technologies. Collaborating with Three UK, we took it from paper to pilot to business-as-usual.
Using the Joint Operator Technical Specifications (JOTS) Neutral Host In-Building (NHIB) and a collaboratively defined process with Three UK means faster, wider scale deployments for customers and a lighter touch for the operator.
Three months from Freshwave’s testing at pilot sites to it becoming Three UK’s business-as-usual approach
We brought over 40 sites live in the following six months using the NHIB spec
April 2023 alone saw 13TB of data downloaded and over 3.5TB of data uploaded at Three UK’s NHIB sites with us
JOTS NHIB reduces the complexity around a neutral host providing indoor mobile coverage to businesses and has been agreed by all four UK mobile network operators. By reducing complexity, it makes in-building coverage more scalable, benefitting more UK enterprises.
Working closely with Three UK, we established a defined process which makes deployments easier and faster, bringing assured 4G connectivity to our Three UK enterprise customers more quickly.
People expect to stay connected wherever they are. Find out more about how we assure indoor connectivity.

Indoor Connectivity Outdoor ConnectivityIndoor small cells
An indoor small cell is a low power cellular coverage box that boosts mobile service for people in a carefully defined area inside. They’re similar in size and shape to a Wi-Fi access point.
