Staying oink-line: New mast at Paultons Park, home of Peppa Pig World, enhances mobile connectivity for visitors and staff
Paultons Park is a family-run theme park in Hampshire, England, with over 70 rides and attractions, including the enormously popular Peppa Pig World. The park itself is set in 140 acres of parkland in New Forest National Park and had a long-standing requirement for additional mobile coverage. And welcoming more than one million visitors annually, the high numbers of people using their mobiles meant that additional mobile capacity was also needed so people could access voice and data services while at the park.
Lawrence Mancey, Marketing and Technology Director at Paultons Park, said: “Our guests visit us from all around the UK and they expect to be able to use their mobiles just like they do at home. We want to make sure that they all have the best possible day out with us and so I appointed Dovid Pink of Amsy Chartered Surveyors, a firm of specialist telecoms surveyors, to assist us. Of the many companies Amsy CS was in contact with, Freshwave were the ones who were able to provide a solution.”
After contacting Freshwave, Interim Sales Director – Private Sector, Chris Early, got in touch with the mobile network operators to explore deploying a mast at the park.
Chris said: “Thanks to our great relationships with the mobile operators, we were able to secure commitments from both VodafoneThree and O2 to enhance connectivity at the park. The local authority was also supportive of the planning application and by collaborating with Dovid and his team we were able to build momentum on the deployment.”
The 30-metre lattice tower brings coverage and capacity to the park and surrounding area. Visitors and staff now enjoy better high-capacity mobile connectivity than ever from Vodafone and O2.

Not only will this mobile connectivity help park visitors keep in touch with each other during their day with us, but it will also see them getting more benefits from our Paultons Park app. The app has an interactive map, live queue and show times and also exclusive offers from our retail, food and beverage outlets, so they’ll be able to streamline their visit and really make the most of their day out.”
